The List

As we await the Good News that is the end of Satan's Beast system, as we "watch and prepare" for the fulfillment of the Fifth Gospel, and as we likewise anticipate the Lord's return to reign, the question arises, "What specifically are we to be 'watching and preparing' for?"

The Lord answered that question when he addressed a similar query from His disciples:

Matthew 24:3 "And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and the end of the world? KJV

Matthew 24:4-5 "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." KJV

Then, we are introduced to The List that we are to "watch and prepare" for:

Matthew 24:6-7 "And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye are not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places." KJV

Much of this list is self-evident, and though still important to "watch and prepare" for, the focus of this blog will be on the following:

Matthew 24:11 "And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many." KJV

That is three (3) references to deception within eight (8) verses. I would conclude that there is going to be a lot of deception in the last days. Additionally, we are given another clue as to who will be doing the deceiving. It is none other than the false prophet also known as antichrist.

Antichrist will receive special attention in later posts. For now the focus is on The List, specifically "deception", and also on the realization that there is going to be copious amounts of this "deception" right before the Lord's return:

2 Timothy 3:13 "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived." KJV

Watch and Prepare

Matthew 24:42 "Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." KJV

Matthew 24:44 "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." KJV

The Lord Messiah Yeshua instructed His followers to "watch and be ready" for His return. He gave a specific list of things to watch and be ready for. That list, and the preparation for His Glorious second coming, is the reason for this blog. The Lord's return to reign is the Fifth Gospel!

Careful consideration, thoughtful discussion and respectful debate about the Lord's End Times List, will put us in full compliance with His instructions to "watch and be ready".

Furthermore, agreement is not required for this "watching and preparing". Simply mulling the evidence offered and forming a conclusion, agree or disagree, qualifies as "watching and being ready".

Finally, though we will be "watching and preparing", we won't be date-setting His return based on we what we conclude. This is why:

Mark 13:32 "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father." KJV

Why should we "watch and prepare" even though we will never "know"? Because He said so!
